The [Machine] Activate Power Plan module can be used to change the active power plan used by the server. For servers that might not be doing any work late at night, the power plan can be used to allow the machine to consume less power without completely shutting down. The details of what happens in different power plans is based on the settings found in each of the configured power plans. By default, there is a power plan named Balanced, HighPerformance, and PowerSaver. These can be found in the power settings in Control Panel on the server. Since each of the default plans can be changed, you can tailor the settings you wish to use by configuring each of those. Or you have the option in Control Panel to make new custom named power plans. What happens when a plan is active depends on the settings in each unique plan. The [Machine] Activate Power Plan module only changes which one is considered active on the server.
